Head of People

Job Details

We’re partnering with an innovative and rapidly growing MedTech organisation headquartered in Galway to appoint a Head of People as they enter an exciting new phase of commercial growth.

This is a pivotal leadership opportunity for an experienced HR professional who thrives in high-growth, fast-paced environments and wants to shape the people agenda within a scaling, internationally focused business.

Reporting directly to the CEO and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, the successful individual will lead the organisation’s Talent & Culture strategy while building the People function from the ground up. This is a highly visible role with genuine influence across the business and an opportunity to help shape organisational growth.

The organisation operates within a regulated environment and is looking for someone who combines strong operational HR capability with commercial acumen, sound judgement and a pragmatic, hands-on approach.

Key areas of focus will include:

  • Building and embedding a high-performance, engagement-led culture across Ireland and the US
  • Designing scalable people frameworks across performance, development, compensation, onboarding and progression
  • Supporting significant growth and talent acquisition activity across technical and commercial functions
  • Partnering closely with leadership on organisational development and employee engagement initiatives
  • Developing the People function over time, including future international HR hires
  • Ensuring HR compliance across Ireland and the US within a regulated environment
  • Providing strategic people insights and metrics to leadership and Board level stakeholders

The ideal profile:

  • 8–12+ years’ HR experience with previous Head of People / HR Director level exposure
  • Proven experience scaling organisations through significant growth phases
  • Experience building or transforming a People function within a scaling or evolving business
  • Strong Irish employment law knowledge with exposure to US employment practices advantageous
  • Prior experience within MedTech, Pharma, Biotech, or another regulated industry highly desirable
  • Comfortable operating strategically while remaining hands-on day-to-day
  • Strong communicator with excellent stakeholder management capability

Culturally, this role will suit someone who enjoys pace, autonomy and building environments rather than maintaining heavily established structures. The business values pragmatism, collaboration and commercially focused decision-making.

The role is Galway-based with an on-site presence expected for the majority of the week.
