Purpose of the job:
To be responsible and manage all activities related to the HR department including but not limited to general personal administration, compensation and benefits, recruitment and selection, learning and development, labour relations, regulatory watch, compliance with the social regulations, preparation of the booking of salaries in the ledger of the bank, budget preparation and follow up.
The HR Director also acts as a facilitator and advisor for the local management committee and the department heads in order to ensure an appropriate allocation of human resources and to provide the employees with high quality services.
To develop policies and procedures that reflects the global EMEA framework and which are in line with local regulations
To assist the Local Management committee in maintaining the company culture and core values of the bank.

Main responsibilities:

  • Payroll administration and Budget
  • Supervise the payroll process for local staff, for expatriate employees and for Amsterdam office
  • Approve, after review by HR generalist, the final payroll prepared by the external payroll provider
  • Approve additional controls & corrections performed by the HR generalist for specific events such as holiday allowances, 13th month, and final payroll for leavers
  • Perform the relevant social security declarations with the HR generalist, or in their absence – sick leave, maternity leave etc
  • Control public transportation allowances
  • Responsibility for allowances – lunch tickets, transport costs, representation allowances etc
  • Check invoice, credit notes received from payroll provider
  • Prepare salary spreadsheets allowing the salary to be booked in the different ledgers
  • Responsible for reporting to the local management committee, external bodies and / or the group
  • Assumes responsibility for the budget
  • Act as main point of contact with compensation team in London for the salary review process

Education and people development

  • Discuss training needs with department managers/ employees
  • Liaise with London HQ around internal application procedures
  • Follow up on training attendance and control budget
  • Represents the HR department in all meetings in terms of communication, problem solving or listening skills

Recruitment

  • Supervise the recruitment process
  • Negotiate contract with agencies
  • Assess recruitment needs with line managers
  • Attend throughout interview process and help recruiting managers in the selection of candidates
  • Prepare salary proposals to be approved by recruiting managers

Administration

  • Final responsibility for all administrative tasks and activities done by the department
  • Set up and follow HR budget
  • Monitor headcount
  • Work permit and expat administration

Provide HR support to other branches as required

  • Liaises with external payroll service provider
  • Prepares salary transfers
  • Monthly reporting
  • Recruitment, on boarding and expat administration
